Capstone contributor · Design, Go development, and technical research

September 2024–March 2025

Contributed to a team TPM fuzz-testing capstone sponsored by Google and the Trusted Computing Group. I participated in architecture decisions, contributed TPM setup and Go test work, and independently authored the Future Development Proposal as the technical research handoff.

THE BRIEF

What needed to be built.

Design repeatable TPM testing and provide the sponsoring team with a reasoned roadmap for extending the capstone framework.

MY CONTRIBUTIONS

My contribution.

Team design & Go development

  • Participated in pipeline design, including parallel execution and CI integration implemented by teammates.
  • Contributed Go TPM initialization, command setup, input-handling tests, and setup documentation.

Independent research & handoff

  • Independently authored the Future Development Proposal on Markov-chain command sequencing and byte-level mutation.
  • Evaluated execution-log inputs, malformed-input testing, and a roadmap for software and physical TPM testing.

WHY THIS APPROACH

Distinguished realistic command sequences from deliberately invalid inputs, and weighed broader test coverage against log-collection effort and control over TPM state. The proposal gave the sponsoring team concrete options for future development.

THE RESULT

A team testing framework with an individually authored research handoff.

Contributed design and Go development to the sponsored capstone and delivered an independently authored research handoff. The proposal gave the sponsoring team a roadmap for future fuzzing work, with implementation tradeoffs for command sequencing, input mutation, and broader TPM testing.
