SDI Engineering-sponsored capstone
GearSim
Software Engineering Capstone
Developed an interactive simulation tool for assessing aircraft landing-gear loads and dynamic responses in a capstone sponsored by SDI Engineering.
THE BRIEF
What needed to be built.
Help engineers and aeronautical physicists explore landing-gear behavior and assess flight-control and braking systems without relying on a physical test for every scenario.
MY CONTRIBUTIONS
My contribution.
Simulation & architecture
- Designed an interactive tool for examining landing-gear loads and dynamic responses.
- Converted the GearSim architecture to C++ with the Qt framework using object-oriented design.
Stakeholder delivery
- Delivered the simulation through weekly Scrum sprints with stakeholders and teammates.
THE RESULT
Interactive simulation for engineering decisions.
Delivered an interactive C++ and Qt tool for exploring aircraft landing-gear loads and dynamic responses. Translated engineering requirements into a usable simulation through weekly stakeholder sprints.
